Christmas Gnome Handprint Craft

When I was pregnant with our 2nd we had our oldest make a flower painting (using his footprints) to hang in his new sister’s room. It was such a fun welcome picture for the new baby and a sweet memory of how small he was when I was pregnant with the 2nd. This time around I wanted to do the same thing however, since our 3rd will be born in December I thought a Christmas themed painting would be perfect.

Who doesn’t love a Christmas Gnome?!

What you need:

  • Canvas (hobby lobby has these on sale quite a bit)
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes (for me to add details later)
  • Paper plate

What to do:

  • 1. Using whatever color paint you want the gnome’s beard to be, put the child’s handprint on the canvas.
  • 2. Add hat and nose to the handprints.
  • 3. Add background and details to hats/beards.
  • 4. Don’t forget to add the kid’s name and age to the back of the painting.

This would make a great gift for grandparents, and would also look cool on a canvas bag or kitchen towel.

Happy Crafting!!
